Chang Hsin English Village - Role Play Environment
Keelung Chang Hsin Elementary School (長興國小) has completed construction of three small role play environments. The school received a budget of $3,000,000 NT to renovate 3 unused classrooms on the ground floor of their campus. They also have additional unused space available for future additions.
Note that each classrooms contains 3 or 4 different dramatic play areas that limit the number of participants in the space at any given time. Note also the quality of the interior construction.
The windows at the back of the original classrooms have been blocked off by the plywood backdrops and the front of the classrooms have been closed in by large glass windows and double glass doors. Until airconditioning systems are installed, only 2 small windows can be opened to allow fresh air to circulate.
A mix of fluorescent lighting and directed pot lights have been installed in the lowered tiled or dry-walled ceilings. Valence lighting is also used in the "dining" situation room.
The original hallway outside the 3 rooms has also been drywalled and finished in a flat white paint. An all-weather wooden deck has also been added to the courtyard directly in front of the new classrooms.
